Laura Linney was one of the most renowned American actors of recent times. Her savacious and vulnerable performances have earned her a cult brand. Born to a famous playwright's father but being raised by a single mother who worked in the field of nursing, she began to take an interest in theater while working with her father during the summer, eventually studying acting, initially at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. She began her Broadway career after her graduation after which she made her debut on television the following year. Since then, she has performed in many films and stage and television productions. Her nominations include three Oscar Awards, five Tony Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and has won numerous awards throughout her professional career. In spite of her many accolades, she is still a lover of the theatre, and has appeared on both screen and stage.
