April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started with guitar and piano in the 7th grade, which ignited curiosity. April Lockhart composed her first single"Different" when she was twelve years old. When she was 14, April spent much time writing lyrics and perfecting her music abilities. Over the next few years, she took writing trips with her father in LA as well as NY. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in her book Take My Hand to help her friends who were dealing with peer pressure, disabilities or suicide. Lockhart is also gaining a growing fan base as a lifestyle blogger and works for popular Clean Beauty company Ilia. Her disability is a part of her persona, however it's not all of the of the picture. Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't overlook the fact that she has a disability. It also doesn't make it a point to emphasize her disability. What message is it sending? That we all contain multitudes that our identities are complex and that we are beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart said via video that she does not want to be defined solely by her physical disability. She doesn't wish to become an advocate for disabled people who only speaks about it. There are a lot of aspects of Lockhart. The issue doesn't affect my everyday activities. I conduct my business as usual and have come up with my own methods to adjust. The same is true for my personality, and it's something that needs to be addressed. Self-acceptance is a long marathon but Lockhart is an absolute inspiration for this aspect. She admits that she's been through phases with her body at times not being confident in wearing particular types of clothes showing the arms of her. Nowadays, she dresses what she's comfortable in and post photos in those outfits to social networks with a sense of pride. The journey itself is the key thing I'm not sure if will ever be the end of self-love. This is true for everyone regardless of degree of self-confidence. It's important to have people around you who are aware of and appreciate your situation. They will be the ones who ask what you worry about?
