Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she is the only person to be awarded 10/10 marks during an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi was an Romanian gymnastics instructor who was later Comaneci's coach and first became aware of Comaneci at the age of six. She first competed at the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. And in 1970, won. Her first ever international event in 1972 she took the top spot with three gold medals. In her very first competition at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals as well as one silver. She began her career in the entertainment industry as a teenager, when she performed as the figure skating duo of their twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer in her teens. Her first job was as a figure skater performing with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. Ice Capades featured performances of skating on ice performed by actors.
